Zero Transmission. Zero Disability. Zero Discrimination.

20th International Leprosy Congress
Manila, Philippines
10-13 September 2019

ORAL SESSIONS

English will be the official language for the congress.  For oral sessions, there will be 312 papers to be presented in 10 break-out rooms over the 3-day congress period. There will be 20 sessions per day with 6-8 presenters per session. Each session is for 90- 120 minutes to be facilitated by a Chairman / Co-Chairman to ensure smooth and timely flow of discussions.

A.  PRESENTATION GUIDELINES

  1. Only registered authors / co-authors are authorized to present the paper. If presenting author cannot attend the congress, please inform your session chair the name of the substitute presenter prior to the presentation.
  2. Presentation schedule, room assignments and list of session moderators will be communicated and posted through the website and souvenir program. As the congress draws near, presenters are advised to regularly visit the web page for ORAL SESSIONS. Updates will be incorporated in the Final Program which will be available for distribution as early as the afternoon of 10 September through the congress proper.
  3. In an effort to synchronize the parallel sessions, session moderators have been instructed to impose strict adherence to time schedule. This is to allow delegates to move from one session to another and from one room to another in a timely manner, likewise for the session to finish on time in courtesy to the succeeding session assigned in the same room.
  4. A section in the Online Registration Form requires information about the presentation code (ex: 0-012) of paper/s to present. Kindly write the presentation code of paper/s to present for proper accounting of confirmed presenters per session.

Power Point Presentation:

  • Presenter shall load the USB Memory stick in the Speaker’s Ready Area within the assigned room at least 30 minutes before the start of the session.
  • Limit slide presentation to 10 minutes plus 5 minutes for moderated discussion (Q&A).
  • Limit to no more than 15 slides with brief emphasis on objectives, methodology, results and conclusion.
  • Presenter is advised to strictly follow the 10-minute presentation guideline for the session to finish on time and in courtesy to the succeeding presenter and session assigned in the same room.
  • Presenter will be notified by the session chair 3 minutes prior; and will be requested to wrap-up the presentation 1 minute before the end of time allocation.
  • We recommend that the presenter rehearses the timing of slide presentation very carefully to make sure that the presentation takes no more than the allocated time.
